AllMusicConverter is an interesting media suite that offers a variety of features that range from simple video file conversion to automatic online video recording. The availability of these features varies from version to version, and the one that we’ll be reviewed here includes video conversion, audio extraction, audio CD ripping, direct copy to iPod/iPhone, and support for a wide array of input media formats.
AllMusicConverter can be enjoyed in six different flavors, from a basic edition (known as “Professional Subscription”) that merely converts audio files between formats, to a full-range “Media Suite” edition that adds DVD ripping and online video downloading to an already extensive functionality. This review covers the features available in the “Pro+VideoRip” version, which is the one you can freely download and test.
AllMusicConverter Pro+VideoRip supports many audio and video files for the input, though you will only be allowed to save the resulting audio as a WAV, MP3, M4A, or WMA file. The program interface has been clearly designed for bulk conversion, devoting most of the space available to listing as many input files as possible. When selecting a video file as input for audio extraction, however, you will be shown a small video player with the video in question for verification. The process can be fully automated, so that any file added to the conversion list is converted right away into the format selected. The same feature can be used with a folder of your choice (known as a “hot folder”), so that any file saved into that folder will be also converted without any further intervention on your side. As a bonus, this edition of AllMusicConverter comes with a CD burner that will allow you to create both audio and data discs of your favorite audio tracks.
Thus, if you require a tool capable of providing fast and efficient automatic conversion tasks for large numbers of audio and video files, I cannot but recommend you to give this program a try.
